Salted Hazelnut Hot Chocolate
I don’t know about you but we always have Nutella on hand at home. I remember tasting it for the first time in Italy and I was instantly hooked. This beverage is so decadent and easy to pull together. Bonus it can easily be kept non-alcoholic so kids can enjoy too!
Serves 1
8 oz milk
3 tablespoons hazelnut spread
generous pinch of salt
1 1/2 ounces bourbon
marshmallows or whipped cream, for topping (optional)
In a small pot, heat the milk until it’s steaming, but not boiling. Add the hazelnut spread and salt to a mug. Add 1/2 oz to 1 oz of your milk and whisk it with the hazelnut spread to thin into a syrup. Stir in the rest of the hot milk. Add the bourbon. Top with marshmallows or whipped cream from a can. Add sprinkles if you are feeling festive.

Such a fun dessert drink that will keep you warm on the coldest nights.
I added both marshmallows and whip cream but my favorite is a toasted marshmallow. (not pictured)
I tried adding ugly sweater sprinkles…it did its job..they were not very pretty..lol.
I love the packaged marshmallows and think they would be a fun addition to the warm beverage.
Santa would totally love you for leaving this number Christmas Eve.
